Scorpion Feast

Check out this video of us eating scorpion.

what a day.

Today had been a pretty fruitful day for me. Spent my entire morning back in sweet Ngee Ann CTV office digitising footages from the Beijing trip only to find my 1hour worth of digitised material and edited footages not saved and GONE! Was fuming mad for such a mistake i made, thus had to spend another 1 hour digitsing and editing again. Wasn't exactly productive at all so didn't manage to do much.

Spent my afternoon with Yuki, Evelyn + BF, Martina and Wayne at ESCAPE THEME Park. Has been at least 4 years since my last visit there. The place has changed a lot a lot. It wasn't as much fun as what i thought it would be. I guess people do grow out of things. The place was more like a kids playground to me than a theme park. None of the rides was even interesting not to mention frightening.

We went to catch the movie, DEFINITELY MAYBE at the newly launched shopping mall at Downtown East. We was there just last week and the shopping mall was deserted, no shops other than the pathetic NTUC, but today when we went there, it was fully furnished. All shops were all, restaurants running and crowded to the max. I should say it's quite a cool place, small but pretty not bad. What's more.. they have this indoor ferris wheel right IN THE MALL itself. Cool huh. It's really a beautiful sight in the night when all the ferris lights are up. Pretty pretty pretty.

Well as for the movie, i liked it pretty much, a romance comedy i found to be smart. Yuki hates it though cos it reminded her of Nic who's spending his first 2 weeks confined to serve the nation.

Check out this video i edited in 30mins starring us eating SCORPIONS at Beijing in the entry above.

Talk about Job Satisfaction.

These few days at work were the period of time where i find myself the most useful. For the past month that i've been with Starhub (Business Management Finance Dept), i was just rotting at my desk. Spiders were starting to web on me and layers and layers of dust settled in.. when suddenly i found myself USEFUL! That was like the last word i would describe myself at work, cos what i do there is really pretty dumb.

Well, this week i finally managed to put my expertise to task. The department needed to do a audio recording for their big hoo ha presentation to the big big big boss.. Well, the big boss asked my boss to do.. my boss asked my incharge to do.. anddd.. my incharge asked me to do.. and so i HAVE to do.

In any case, this is like chicken feet to me, nothing brain wrecking for me. I wrote the script for them (after some edits), did the voice recording for them in which they used two ang moh kias as presenters. One of them is from my dept. She's a pretty different gal, now i get into another story.. Well, she's a pure chinese, from taiwan, a citizen of taiwan and new zealand. She's here in Singapore on her own, just 17, just graduated from a international sch and is looking to join SIM. She's currently staying on her own (like me) and rents a room in Little India. Her parents is back in New Zealand and she's all alone here, anddd.. she intends to stay here by herself to work and study. She's pretty similar to me, just that she's ONLY 17. Was quite blown off when she shared that with me.

Well, back to my accomplishement at work.. i did OTs these few days, wrote the script for them, did the recording, edited the peice, 7mins in total in these 3 days and this is what i got:

"Hey, thanks for your great help! Our big boss likes it alot. He said its very well done & i said we hired the right pple."

I just felt really contented when i read this and when i heard them saying how much they liked it. They just made my week.
WHEEEe..

Now. if i could get that guinea pig.. i'll be delighted.

But.. most probably won't be able to go this Sat again, will be going with Yuki, Pei and some unknown ppl to Escape. It has been at least 4 years since my last visit there. I'm looking forward to it.

Oh.. I'll be staying over at Yuki's place for the next two weeks or so, Nic is going NS so I HAVE HER ALL TO MYSELF. HEHEHEH.

That's all for now. I have 5 mins before knock off! (:

THAT GUINEA PIG ME WANTS!

Look at these lovely furballs. Aren't they cute. Nope, they're not hamsters! They're guinea pigs!!!

This is Harvey, quite a handsome lad. I'm dropping by SPCA to adopt him maybe this sat. Hopefully he's still around. Humphrey, the one in the second picture has already been adopted.:(

He looks more like a pig to me and i want him.. but too bad. I shall pray hard Harvey's still there when i go. They say guinea pigs are pretty hot-sellers.

HEY PIGGY PIGGY.. MOMMY'S COMING TO GET YOU~~~~~!!!

Sweet SG!

Back from Beijing already. Love it so so much there i don't mind staying there for long.

Well except for the last dinner we had there. We had this fabulous scrumptous dinner at this pretty high end Beijing Duck Restaurant. Food was really enjoyable except that 7 out of 10 of us came back with food poisoning, and i'm of course one of them. It was really bad, had a high fever, kept throwing up and felt weak all over. I'm better now, thanks to the jab from the doctor. Will be on mc these two days. Quite suprised that i got poisoned at this stupid high end restaurant when eating rubbish dirt stuff at roadside store gave me nothing at all. I ate fried scorpions and starfish at a roadside store one of those days, didnt even have a mere stomachache. It was real yummy, tasted like KFC chicken. YUM (:

Beijing Day 3 & 4

Have been so exhausted each day so haven't been blogging about the trip yet. Well, here's the two lagging day 3 & 4 of our trip - A massive post of pictures. I'm so lazy to type.

Day 3:

We took a bus to go recki for places to film. Their bus system is quite different, they've like a few aunties stationed at the door to collect money. Each bus ride is 1 yuan only, regardless of distance.

Went to this shopping mall where they have a VW showroom and many pretty Olym cars.

Mini Olym car

Cute huh.

Lunch at nearby well-known Ta Bao shop.

Pigged out!

Went to this super beautiful place where they have plasma TVs as ceilings. Rich huh. They say it's like one of the world's largest ceiling screen. Wow!

Dragons?

Umbrellas!

Such beautiful place of course must take picture lah.

We're flying!

And the boys couldn't help it either.

Day 4:

On board Beijing subway to CUC!

CUC. Communication University of China.

The school is really beautiful, just like a town on it's own. They've restaurants, sports hall, supermarkets, flats all in that place. And whee.. on flat ground! Unlike sucky NP, up and down hills.

Isn't this building beautiful? In late spring on, entire building will be filled with flowers and leaves. So pretty!

Filming first episode for 我是电视人 at CUC.

While filming...

Dinner at CUC 水煮鱼restaurant. Funny name huh. Common in China i guess.

Rabbit meat. (:

We're there just on time for audition for this singing competition they were having and guess what? The rest of the group signed up for it! Entire place was really high. If audience don't like you, they'll just throw paper planes, crushed paper, toilet rolls and boo you down. So most people, only manged to sing a few sentences on stage, some of them was even booed down even before they started singing. Quite mean huh. But i had fun booing people down. HAHA.

Look at the stage filled with thrown paper planes. (Take note they clear stage every few minutes, else it'll be pilled up with thrown stuff on stage)

Host introducing the team from SG.
That helped a little and Daniel managed to sing a verse of I lay my love for you.

Jerry - about 5 sentences sung.

Cyrus - Shortest among all, 3 sentences.

Well, but we had fun.

We'll be visiting the zoo in awhile time. Yipee! So wanna hug the panda!

Beijing trip day 2!

WE CONQURED THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA!

We hiked Great Wall in the morning, just a tiny part of it cos to cover the entire Great Wall will take at least 1 month. It was already quite exhausting despite it just being an mere 2 hour hike. And man.. sure it was damn crowded up there, had like real massive human traffic with practically people from all over the globe. Climbing up wasn't as tough, just that the steps there were so much bigger, like one steps there can be equal to the height of 3 steps in Singapore. By the time we ended, our legs were already numb and sore like tofu.

At the foot of our starting point.

After the climb.

The trishaw ride we had.

If you haven't already know, this is the BJ trip cool video team consisting of 4 mass commers and 6 FSVers. We're known to be the noisiest, the havoc-kest and the last in tour and gatherings. It has been so fun hanging out with this bunch of monkeys.

(Top left to right) Me, Xiuqi, Cecilia, Daniel, Joanna, Jia Yun.
(Bottom left to right) Jerry, Shawn, Cyrus, Jun Jie.

Tomorrow we'll be meeting up with the CUC (Communication University of China) students for the first time. This uni is known as one of the most prestigious media institutes in China, so very looking forward to meeting the students.

We're gonna have a snacks & movie party at Cecilia's room now. Cheers! :P

Beijing trip Day 1

It's our first day in Beijing! It's so freezing cold here. Temperature is just like 10 degree or more, but the wind is really strong, so much so that my entire face was numb from it.

We went to the Mao Ze Tong palace first:

And then some other palaces. Had been a really long day for us since our 1am flight, we haven't been able to sleep at all yet. And now they're thinking of going to the KTV here where they actually serves international buffet, some party world KTV. Tomorrow will be the great wall of china hike. I have no idea how i'll be able to survive through it. Cold~~~~~

I just love this picture. The trees of Beijing in spring. Botak.

Yea. it's just 3 hours and i can still blog.. cos i'm in my sch. It's pretty creepy up here, esp when i'm all alone in the office waiting for Cyrus who's as of now 55 mins late. Pei said she saw quite a lot of that kind of thing up at our block before. so um.. scary.

He's finally here! GTG.. Blog more about my trip soon!
